Introduction of O-Xylene

       

Xylene is an organic compound with the molecular formula of C8H10. It is a colorless transparent liquid. It is the product of the substitution of two hydrogen groups on the benzene ring by methyl groups. 
Xylene has a pungent smell and is flammable. It can be mixed with ethanol at will and is insoluble in water. The boiling point is 137 ~ 140 ºC. Xylene is a low toxic chemical substance, which is classified as A4 by the American Conference of governmental industrial hygienists (ACGIH), that is, a substance lacking evidence of carcinogenicity to humans and animals.
