It’s here. That frigid air that makes you wish you had fur for skin.
This is the year to make that happen. And, you can channel your inner ‘70s chick at the same time. What could be better than being toasty warm on a cold day and looking all Mod Squad? White Faux Fur Vest
All you have to do is get your hands on one of these fur vests to get that cool gal look.
And even though these vests have a throwback look, they are very 2016.
This one has a cozy polar bear look without all the heaviness. But lambswool is going to be oh so warm! I love the creamy color, different than most of the browns and blacks. It’s good to be different sometimes!
Another cute choice for a fun, casual look is this gray one from Target. It has a boho Aztec design in knit on the back. I’d say this one may not be quite as warm since the back isn’t fur, so it’s perfect for say, mid-50 degree days. Great price also.
And another from Target, which may be one of my favorites. Shaky, long, faux fur — so fun and hip looking. I love the streams of cream on top of the black. Now, this one I picture being very warm. I really don’t know why this isn’t in my closet right now. And that price.
Then we have this little lovey. Luxurious, white and gray dyed, zebra-print rabbit fur. Hip length. On sale. I can’t handle how gorgeous this is. In person, I can’t imagine.
Now, I know genuine fur can really get to some people. Some don’t want to support that industry by buying new and I get that. Besides being pricey, as well. Sooo, here’s a cool DIY project that just requires a little time and basic needle and thread skills. If you come across a vintage or used mink, raccoon or other type fur that you really love, you can remove the sleeves yourself and — ta da! — a vest is born. There are several tutorials on the Internet with step by step instructions.
Or have it done professionally. You can come across mink jackets fairly reasonably on eBay or at estate sales. Or maybe you have one stuck back in your closet and would get more wear out of it as a vest. Try it!
Alrighty now, I expect to see you out and about looking all furry and warm this winter. They say it’s gonna be a cold one!
