Indar, an Ingeteam company, was already a pioneer in the design and manufacture of wind generators in the late 1980s when the first generators were served to a local wind farm. Since then, it has designed and built wind generator platforms, working with the world’s leading experts in wind turbines. Today Indar has more than 25000 installed generators around the world, with a power generating capacity of 23GW (over 5% of total installed power capacity).

Indar is now the world’s leading independent manufacturer of wind generators, its position bolstered in recent years by the important role of U.S. players in the industry.

Xabier Irure, Global Sales Director Indar Wind, Aritz Insausti Milwaukee Base Indar General Manager, Iñigo Garcia Global Director Indar Wind and Jon Vaquerizo, Global Technical Director Indar Wind.

The Milwaukee base of operations is key to Indar’s leadership position in the wind energy sector, serving as the engineering, manufacture and service headquarters for the North American wind market and for the OEMs and utilities established there. Indar Milwaukee features state-of-the-art facilities with 110,000 sq. ft. floor space, a total surface area of 350,000 sq. ft. and a team of 150 people.

This industrial and service headquarters is designed to deliver more than 1,000 units/year to a national market that already has an installed cumulative capacity of 84,405 MW (mainly in Texas, Kansas, North Dakota, New Mexico and North Carolina), and where projects are currently being built to add another 14,004 MW.

Together with Milwaukee, Indar’s other industrial base is its parent company in the Spain, where engineering and manufacturing facilities are located. Also located here is its R&D lab, where high-performance equipment is designed and manufactured including double-fed induction generators (DFIG), permanent magnet generators (PMG), and asynchronous squirrel-cage induction generators (IG).
