Little Rock woman battles moving company over damaged heirlooms and lost piano parts | KATV

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — A woman now living in Little Rock moved across several states but it came with a price when she said her moving company did not do what she paid for.

Patricia Tull said the total cost of the move was $14,000 to move with American Van Lines and paid $7,000 upfront. Construction Machinery

When they arrived, she said they asked for the second half before unloading her belongings.

"Upon arrival and satisfactory delivery I was to pay for the remaining amount," said Tull. "He told me I would not get my furniture unless I paid him in full right then and there.”

Tull said she paid the money but several pieces were damaged and scratched up including priceless heirlooms.

She said parts of her Yamaha Baby Grand Piano were nowhere to be found until later on when she received a call.

"They had found the parts of the piano on his truck and were shipping them back," said Tull. "I was told in another conversation that they had shipped the parts to the company that they had contracted with to set the piano up.”

Tull said after repeatedly calling they told her they would send someone to put the piano together but she said it has been days with still no word on when they will come.

KATV reached out to the company and a representative with American Van Lines tells us they have sent forms for Tull to fill out to receive reimbursement for the damages.

The representative also tells us they are currently working to get someone to come and reassemble the piano but they could not give us a date at this time.

Tull said they are more than things to her.

Tull and her late husband picked out this piano together and said it is priceless.

"You could buy me another 10 pianos but I don’t want another 10 pianos," said Tull. "This is something my husband bought for me. It is something that is very dear to me.”

Tull said she paid an extra thousand dollars for insurance for her belongings and has currently not received the forms for reimbursement.
