Three versatile new collections of luxurious, undyed, all-natural wool rugs will be making their debut with West Coast retailers and designers in the Capel Rugs’ showroom, January 28 to February 1, during the Las Vegas Market in Space A-133 of the World Market Center. The new collections expand Capel’s selection of elegant, all-natural wool rugs – a category that is gaining momentum at retail as consumers increasingly seek out products that combine style with sustainability. These latest introductions feature high-value, on-trend looks that range from transitional solids to contemporary and modern designs. “Environmentally conscious consumers are increasingly interested in undyed, natural and earth friendly products,” said Cameron Capel, president – sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. “Capel has a lot of creative rugs in this category, so we are well set to meet this growing demand in 2024. And, as we continue to pursue innovations in new machine made constructions, these designs also are looking more and more like handmade products.” Leading off Capel Rugs’ earth-friendly intros in Las Vegas is Lineas, a fashionable collection of geometric patterns hand tufted in India with 100% all-natural, undyed wool. Available in four colorways, Lineas features a neutral tone-on-tone palette that fits any room effortlessly. The choices include graphite, gesso, vellum and canvas. Lineas is available in four sizes – 3’6” x 5’6”, 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’. These rugs may retail for $549. “The lively, clean lines of this geometric-themed collection swing from contemporary to modern, depending on the setting,” said Capel. “The Hi-Lo pile provides a lush touch of comfort that adds to the appeal.” Capel Rugs’ second new all-natural, undyed wool collection is Zen Garden. Hand tufted in India of 100% wool, Zen Garden features a comfy combination of cut-and-loop and Hi-Lo pile. The collection has two designs gravel and sand, both utilizing serene colors that combine subtle ivory and white tones. Zen Garden is available in four sizes, 3’6” x 5’6”, 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’ sizes. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $449. “The all-neutral, tone-on-tone palette is reminiscent of the sand and gravel found in a Zen garden,” Capel said. “The feeling they convey is both opulent and tranquil.” Vail, Capel Rugs’ third new all-wool collection, also features a transitional, geometric-inspired theme. Hand knotted in India of 100% undyed, natural wool yarns with a deep and luxurious Hi-Lo pile, Vail is available in three colorways – shadow, snow and fawn – and three sizes, 3’6” x 5’6”, 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’ sizes. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $949. “The subtle, soft geometric patterns of these rugs enable them to be placed in any room of any style, adding both warmth and opulent texture,” said Capel. At market, Capel Rugs also is introducing other dynamic hand woven and machine made collections, including Cairo and Boho Bliss. Cairo: Cairo is a machine-made contemporary collection inspired by the historic landmarks of Cairo, Egypt. Woven on Wilton looms in Egypt of 75% olefin and 25% polyester, Cairo features a luxurious 3/8-inch pile. Four colorways are offered, including valley, stone gray, nile and temple, along with five sizes, 2’7” x 7’10”, 3’11” x 5’7”, 5’3” x 7’6”, 7’10” x 11’2” and 9’2” x 12’1”. A 5’ x 8’ may retail for $399. “Cairo is constructed with impeccable quality and a luxurious pile of synthetic yarns for easy care,” Capel said. “Dimension, texture and rich hues are the hallmarks of this design.” Boho Bliss: Boho Bliss is a new hand woven, transitional design featuring woven geometric patterns and neutral, nature-inspired color options. Made in India of polyester yarns, Boho Bliss features a Hi-Lo pile and multiple textures. Three colors are available – stone, wood and alabaster – along with four sizes, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, 8’ x 10’ and 9’ x 12’. Boho Bliss is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $399. Rounding out Capel Rugs’ slate of introductions for the Las Vegas Market are two additions to the Capel Anywhere program of indoor-outdoor rugs – Sirius and Cape Town. Sirius: Sirius is a wonderfully textured, easy-care, indoor-outdoor collection. Hand woven in India of PET, Sirius features thick, knobby yarns that are durable as well as environmentally friendly. Well-suited for outdoor use, Sirius pairs easily with any room style. Three colorways are available – flint, pearl and sand. Four sizes also are offered. Cape Town: Cape Town, made in Egypt on Wilton looms using 100% olefin yarns, features an organic, abstract animal print design in three colorways – black, taupe and brown – and two sizes. While business conditions remain tough heading into the new year, Cameron Capel said Capel Rugs is well positioned to capture new growth. “Interest rates are still high, recession is always lurking, and prices are up for everything, so consumers are being very careful with their disposable income,” she said. “It’s a challenge to get consumers to buy rugs when they are being so conservative with their spending, but we feel that our new direction in natural rugs, combined with the expanded interest in fresh colors beyond the typical blues and grays, will create new opportunities for us in 2024.” Rubber Backed Rugs
