E.M. Johnson Water Treatment Plant Electrical Generator Improvements - Phase 2 | Raleighnc.gov

Update: Project has moved into Phase 2. The Phase 2 portion includes the construction of a new generator building to house two (2) new electrical generators. Project also includes space for much needed water infrastructure expansion along with additional fuel storage and fuel offloading facilities.

This project consists of civil site work, drainage improvements, underground power lines, control wiring, switches and electrical manholes. This construction is associated with the relocation of the current electrical utility substation which is located at the water treatment plant to another location on site. This relocation will free up much needed space at the plant in preparation for a future phase that will include the construction of a new generator building to house two new generators. These improvements will meet all future power needs at the plant until 2040.

Project has moved into Phase 2. The Phase 2 of this project will include construction of additional fuel storage and fuel offloading facilities. Bid advertisement scheduled for Summer 2023. Construction Site Plan is currently under review with the City of Raleigh.

Phase to be updated when available.
