Some serious progress is being made on getting the Sunset Drive-In in High River ready to go. Fishing Pole Anchor
Jeff Langford, who's spearheading the project for the Rotary Car Club, says right now they're working on the most important part of the construction.
"We are lifting five sea-cans into place for the main screen. H&H Cranes donated a crane to lift the sea-cans up and High River Rentals gave us a deal on some Genie Lifts. We've got a welding company out there welding everything together. Screw piles are all done of course and that's what we're actually anchoring the screen to."
Langford, says they're still looking for some help with one of the last pieces of the puzzle, building a fence around the site.
"You know if we can get a fencing crew in there fairly quickly. As soon as that fence is up, I'd say we'd be ready for show time. That's how quickly we're moving along. It could be as quick as the middle of next month I'd say."
Langford says they've had a couple of roads put in, and are having their projection booth worked on off site.
He says they're still looking at sometime in mid-July to have the drive-in up and running.
